It was three months later than planned thanks to the interference of Storm Floris in early August, but Team Helen Mary R 2025 were finally welcomed home properly on Saturday 8 November.
Venturers, parents and sponsors gathered for celebratory drinks and pasties at St Mawes Sailing Club.

Guests were treated to a presentation of photos of the voyage from Fowey to Falmouth, Roscoff and Tréguier, followed by a video compilation produced by venturer Alfie J.

They also took away copies of the voyage report, White Light Across the Water, which featured skipper Matt’s daily log and a commentary by venturer Isabelle, who sadly wasn’t able to join because of school commitments. You can download a copy here.

Venturer Orson, whose place aboard was sponsored by Flushing Sailing Club, brought with him a painting he’d produced of Helen Mary R.

He presented it to skipper Matt Barraud of Morvargh Sailing Project and his team as a mark of his appreciation and gratitude.

Our thanks again to Matt, Vicky, John, Ella and Yumi of Morvargh; and to sponsors St Mawes Sailing Club, H Tiddy, Flushing Sailing Club, St Just in Roseland Parish Council, St Mawes Pier & Harbour Company, Frosts Builders, Team Helen Mary R 2024, Adam Greening and Helen Billington for another successful offshore sailing expedition.
